Georgian Bay Cottage
Inspired by the rugged beauty, natural textures, and relaxed lifestyle of Georgian Bay, this custom Georgian Bay cottage was designed to feel distinctly connected to its surroundings. Warm wood tones, soft blue-grey finishes, natural stone, layered textures, and expansive views come together to create a cottage that feels comfortable, refined, and completely at home on the Bay.
Our work extended throughout the cottage, allowing us to create a cohesive design from room to room. The heart of the home is the custom cottage kitchen, where painted cabinetry, natural wood accents, dramatic stone, and the exposed timber structure create a beautiful balance between traditional Georgian Bay character and contemporary cottage design. Every detail was considered to make the kitchen as functional for busy cottage weekends as it is inviting for entertaining family and friends.
Beyond the kitchen, we designed and built a custom lounge and entertainment wall, incorporating cabinetry, display shelving, storage, and architectural details that complement the light and relaxed feel of the cottage. Throughout the home, custom millwork was used to maximize both function and character, including a completely custom bed, walk-in closet, built-in desk and additional cabinetry designed specifically for the homeowners and the way they use their Georgian Bay cottage.
The bathrooms continue the Georgian Bay inspiration with natural stone, soft coastal tones, distinctive fish-inspired tile, shiplap details and carefully selected fixtures. Each space has its own personality while remaining connected to the overall cottage aesthetic.
One of the most important elements of this project was allowing Georgian Bay itself to be the inspiration and backdrop. Colours were drawn from the water, granite, weathered wood and surrounding landscape, while the cabinetry and architectural details were designed to complement the cottage’s timber-frame construction rather than compete with it.
The result is a highly personalized Georgian Bay cottage that feels elevated without feeling formal—a home designed for lake days, family gatherings, quiet mornings and everything that makes cottage life on Georgian Bay so special.
